On February 15th, Mtre Bryan-Eric Lane, in collaboration with Éditions Yvon Blais, will hold a webinar on damages in cases of latent defects.

Mtre Lane will discuss the recent jurisprudence on reparation for an injury suffered by the buyer within the meaning of section 1728 of the Civil Code of Quebec. Specifically, Mtre Lane will discuss the concept of the injury covered by section 1728 of the Civil Code of Quebec, the awarding of damages to compensate for extrajudicial fees incurred, and the awarding of punitive damages in the context of a recourse for latent defects. Mtre Lane will also discuss the recent jurisprudence applying sections 51 et seq. of the Code of Civil Procedure by which abusive procedures/frivolous or poorly-founded demands were sanctioned in the context of claims for latent defects.

This 90-minute webinar is recognized by the Quebec Bar for the purpose of its mandatory continuing education hours and will be available for streaming at any time as of February 17, 2019.
