Mtre Zoé Delisle wrote an article on the legal status of an absentee in Québec, which was published in the latest monthly newsletter of the Association des familles des personnes assassinées ou disparues (AFPAD).

In particular, this article discusses the legal regime of tutorship to an absentee, necessary to ensure the proper administration of the missing person’s patrimony, property and rights.

The AFPAD is a non-profit organization whose main mission is to overcome the isolation experienced by the families of the victims, to develop links of solidarity between them and make it easier for them to reach the necessary resources so they can access the information and the tools they need to rebuild their life.
