Webinar on Latent Defects

Mtre Bryan-Eric Lane will be giving a webinar on September 14 at noon, in collaboration with Éditions Yvon Blais, on latent defects related to co-ownership.

Mtre Lane will discuss the particular rules that apply to claims for latent defects/construction defects in cases of divided co‑ownership. Mtre Lane will explain the concept of the prudent and diligent buyer in the context of acquiring a co‑ownership, as well as the verifications that a prospective buyer of a co-ownership unit must carry out. The respective responsibilities of the syndicate of co‑ownership, the seller, and the promoter/builder of a co‑ownership will also be explored.   

Mtre Lane will also discuss the recent jurisprudence in claims for latent defects in cases of co-ownership.
